Academy of Wine: Volcanic Wines

Grown in some of the most dramatic landscapes of the wine world, volcanic wines are truly unique. The soils of these regions are often quite poor and have extreme drainage, forcing grapes to dig deep. This creates wines that are very complex and have a distinct sense of mineral-driven terroir. Volcanic activity can be found throughout the wine growing regions of the world and has helped shaped the industry as a whole. Come taste the vast array of styles these unique terroirs produce!
