Join us for a very special "Wine Wednesday" with Jim Obergefell—LGBTQ+ activist, author, co-founder of Equality Vines, and candidate for Ohio's 89th House District.
5-6pm: VIP Reception "Meet & Greet" (Club Level)
6-9pm: General Admission Event, with remarks from Jim Obergefell; no-host bar supporting Equality Vines

VIP**: Members $225; non-members $250
100% of ticket proceeds go to Jim's campaign, supporting a platform of LGBTQ+ equality in a part of our country that needs this kind of advocacy! QR codes will also be available to support donations at the event.
** VIP ticket includes: a private meet & greet reception (5-6pm) with Jim Obergefell and other local dignitaries, including complimentary wine & hors d'oeuvres; plus, a signed copy of Jim's book Love Wins, and a bottle of Equality Vines Love Wins Sparkling Rosé.
ABOUT JIM OBERGEFELL
Jim Obergefell, the named plaintiff from the landmark marriage equality case Obergefell v. Hodges, is a speaker on LGBTQ+ equality and civil rights represented by Keppler Speakers. He is a candidate for the Ohio House of Representatives in the 2022 general election.
He sits on the Board of Advisors of the Mattachine Society of Washington, DC and the National Advisory Council of the GLBT Historical Society. Jim is a past member of the Board of Directors of SAGE, and he was previously a staff member at Family Equality.
Jim co-founded Equality Vines, the first cause-based wine label, to support organizations devoted to equality for all.
Jim co-authored the book Love Wins, published by William Morrow, and he has written book forewords, chapters, and afterwords as well as essays and Op-Eds.
Jim had previous careers as a high school German teacher, corporate trainer, relationship manager, software education consultant, and real estate agent.
Born and raised in Sandusky, OH, Jim returned to his hometown after living in Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; and Washington, DC.

The Club will also be open during regular hours (Wednesdays 5-10pm) for Members and their guests not attending this event.

Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase. Academy Social Club Members receive certain beverages complimentary. Ask your bartender or host for details.
