About the Event
Join us for this very special opportunity to meet Ramzi Fawaz, author of the new book "Queer Forms." Queer Forms tells the history of forgotten feminist and queer popular culture from the 1970s, including lesbian sci-fi cinema, gay serial fiction, and queer comics art. Fawaz shows how these rebellious queer art forms transformed the landscape of US culture and paved the way for our current gender and sexual revolution.
Fawaz will be joined in conversation with San Francisco-based LGBT historian, professor, and political activist Don Romesburg, and they will discuss the legacy of 1970s feminist and queer art and activism, and the possibilities and limits of contemporary social justice projects.
