First Fridays: "Kaleidoscope" Premiere, Castro Art Walk & Member Celebration

A monthly party where we celebrate our Club and the special place it has become over the last 6+ years. All Members are invited to bring friends and toast to our community! We are also on the Castro Art Walk, with the premiere of "Kaleidoscope" our latest art exhibition curated by Baylee Van.

5:00pm — Castro Art Walk & Kaleidoscope art show begins (Main Level only)

7:00pm — Member social begins

8:00pm — Castro Art Walk ends

~8:30pm — A toast to our new members

TO ATTEND

Art Walk attendees:  if you are not an Academy member or guest of a member, you are still welcome to drop-in between 5-8pm to view our latest art collection, Kaleidoscope, and enjoy a beverage. The exhibit is on our Main Floor.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Kaleidoscope:  A Showcase of Collage and Mixed Media

Curated by Baylee Van

A group show, showcasing artists that push the boundaries and create a new understanding of collage as a medium. Collage mirrors the the ways in which queer identity is assembled of bits and pieces of societally validated sexual and gender identity, layered on top of one another to create something new and different that fits us. Kaleidoscope breaks the conventions of medium and presentation within collage.

Just as the queer community constantly innovates identity, Kaleidoscope features artists who innovate collage forging a space within the world of fine art for our work just as we forge a space within society for us.

Members are welcome to bring up to (5) guests per club visit. They may be Members or non-members.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and food items are available for purchase. Our menus can be found here. Academy Social Club Members receive certain beverages complimentary. Ask your bartender or host for details.

CLUB INFORMATION

The Club will also be open during regular hours for Members and their guests, regardless of event attendance. Regular Club guest policy applies.
