About the Event
Have you ever wondered “Wait, when did this become a thing?” Well, probably not mid-video, but if we do not talk about pornography enough, about its problems and potentials, we certainly do not talk enough about its history. Join Sergio Martinez Rey, Stanford PhD candidate specializing in the cultural history of porn to discuss how lesbian-themed pornography came to be.
“Just Friends? An introductory History of lesbian Porn” is meant to be an academically backed, informative, yet fun event where interactive participation is encouraged. Here, we will talk about representation and legal issues, social critique and lesbian nuns, and figure out when and how homosexual sexually explicit content became readily available and a staple of the community.
Spicy (yet classy) thematic t-shirts and prints will be available to purchase for those in attendance, so don’t miss it!

Sergio Martinez Rey (he/him) is a PhD candidate in the department of Iberian…
